Helsinki Hat with Loopy Mango and Claudia Knoglinger Nov 15 from 9:30-12:30

We are so excited to be teaming up with Loopy Mango, an incredible wool company out of New York. You will be able to choose your Loopy Mango wool and make a hat during this class. Lucky thing, you can be an absolute beginner to do this class! And we mean absolute beginner! You will walk out of the class with your touque on your head! We promise!

You will be using Big Loop wool which is the thickest yarn available on the market today. It is the most beautiful yarn in the world. We produce it at our mill in Key Largo, FL with 100 percent domestic wool. Every ball of wool is handcrafted by Loopy Mango artisans.

In this class you will complete entire hat start to finish. They will learn: making a slip knot, cast on, knit stitch, knitting in the round, decreasing, cast off. Voila. Hello Helsinki!!!

Claudia Knoglinger will be coming in to teach the knitting.  A few years ago Claudia got her hands on this beautiful Peruvian highland wool and a novice knitter was born. She has been making blankets and shawls for a few years and recently started using Loopy Mango's most luxurious Merino Wool and now there is no return. You will be hooked because you can't beat the texture and softness of this product.

Claudia studied Fashion Design and Marketing at the Art Institute of Seattle and opened her first store Rebel Rebel (now Reunion) in 2001, where she sold her eco conscious label La Poeme. A few years later, in 2008, she continued with her passion for beautifully designed clothing and accessories with the designer boutique Bernstein & Gold, where we carry prominent designer label from Europe, Canada and the USA.

LOOPY is a knitwear and DIY brand that was founded in New York City in 2004. The founders of the company are two awesome people that Moonrise just loves!  Waejong Kim was born in Korea.  After graduating from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies she worked as an interpreter and later opened a Korean fusion restaurant in Nagoya, Japan.  She moved to New York after 9/11 and worked for a corporate housing company.  She taught herself how to crochet, took a long vacation and never returned to the corporate world.  Anna Pulvermakher was born in Russia.  She moved to Seattle, WA with her family and after graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in Mathematics she worked for Microsoft and Expedia as a Software Test Engineer.  In 2003 she moved to New York to pursue her dream of becoming a professional artist.  Waejong and Anna met at FIT and together they founded Loopy Mango in November of 2004.  Waejong has a German shepherd named Loopy and an orange cat named Mango.
